7V Character Connections

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 12:26 PM
Can't be...
So I've been flooning and finishing my 7V backstory and now desire character connections. For the wary, I am determined to play a relatively mundane character as opposed to my weirder concepts (Aralis will always be there for that).

Concept: Formerly a Changeling from the Lostwood before he joined the Scarthian army. He has been involved in the recent Mahori conflict as a swordmage in an irregular unit. Curious, contemplative, and precise, he is loosely a Guardian/Sorcerer with possibly Scholar/Rogue as side headers. A straight man by nature, I suspect he may be a good scholarly conversationalist or a bewildered foil to the younger and/or crazier people going to the 7V school.

I'm interested in backstory connections for the past year before game starts, traveling from one land to another. Chance meeting with him in a library, traveling companion of convenience from one place to another, being hired to teach or be a bodyguard (great for concerned parentals), etc. are some fine ideas that come to mind. Any connection can be worked out for most countries at some point.

Either comment here or ping me here if you are intrigued.

Curiosity.

An LJ meme for the curious...

The problem with LJ:
We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about one another. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Then if you want post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

General Update

Can't be...

Last weekend was a lovely!

On Friday I got to see [info]annthemun, who organized a surprise picnic party. She even made caramel. We also got to see pixar's UP, which I HIGHLY recommend. It's one of those films that grownups would get and appreciate the themes of letting go and moving on better than most kids would.  And the first 10 minutes of the movie kinda broke my heart. The rest of the weekend was spent being incredibly lazy while being spoiled by gifts from [info]wearysalvation  and friends. Birthdays always make me want to say "I was born! Lavish me with gifts!"

For this upcoming weekend I'm pretty psyched about the Last Exile anime marathon and getting to see Wicked on broadway. It will be my first time seeing a musical, let alone Wicked, so while excited, it's the excitement of the unknown before the plunge. Sadly, this means missing the dancing on Saturday, but you can't say no to Wicked as everyone (and I mean *everyone*) tells me. I really, really hope that I enjoy it, despite the years of built up expectations.

On a random note, buying new furniture is much like setting fire to your wallet, followed by your bank. At least the basket couch is damn comfy.

All in all, I am looking forward to life well lived.

Not a fan, yet...

Hunting for various costuming bits for ProCon. If someone happens to have...

-A curly, blonde wig.
-Green and silver/gray contact lenses (long shot).
-Japanese or oriental-looking slippers.
-Silver and black makeup/face-paint. The more luminescent the better.

Thanks in advance!

"Mark that black figure. Mark him well. He is going kill you. No, don't look at him. Eye contact is death."

Fun time NPCing Madrigal, some gripes aside, with the Root Maze standing out as a fun fighting n' role-playing encounter. Now, to join everyone else in exhausted post-LARP slumber...

Forthcoming curiosity...

- Describe me in one word... just one single word. Positive or negative.
- Leave your word in a comment before looking at what words others have used.
- Then post this meme to your own journal, if you feel like it.

I'm actually kinda curious about the "negative word" since most people steer towards the positive... feel free to post both if that catches/challenges your fancy.

For folks going to the Museum of Science, the exhibits will be closing at 5PM, but we'll be convening back at 65 Arnold for light socializing, boardgames, rockband, and possibly movie watching to make up for the lack of Repo this weekend. Those who aren't going to the Museum are welcome to stop on by 65 at 7PM onwards.

For those going to Endgame this weekend, I was wondering if anyone is willing to drive several FGSers (old and young) from Providence and back?

For those of you who may still be in the area, I and company from 65 are going to Lippet Memorial Park (Providence, RI) at 2PM tomorrow to do some boffer fighting until 4ish, upon which we'll be heading to see the 5PM showing of Wall-E at the Providence Mall.

If you are interested, feel free to come to either/both. If you let us know that you are interested in coming, we can give you some warning if we cancel the practice on account of too much rain.

570 xp A2 character builds encouraged.

Iron Man Sunday

  • May. 2nd, 2008 at 12:22 PM
Can't be...
As part of the convoy going to Endgame this weekend, we'll be heading out to see Iron Man later on Sunday. As our schedules are fairly flexible post-LARP, we were wondering if there was anyone else interested in seeing a later showing?

6:05PM, 6:30PM, 7:00PM, 7:30PM, 8:00PM, 8:50PM, 9:20PM, 9:50PM, 10:20PM   (Yeah- that's a lot of 'later' showings)

If there are no preferences, we'll likely hit the 8:00PM showing although we can switch to an earlier/later showing if there is interest.
